Step into a dynamic role supporting students in a K4 ACCESS Program, working as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming  school year. Located near the lively Tacoma, WA area, this full-time contract position focuses on providing quality educational experiences tailored to students with unique needs. As part of an itinerant team, youll collaborate with multiple schools, ensuring each child receives the specialized support they deserve.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver individualized education plans (IEPs) utilizing district-supported systems, ensuring alignment with both student goals and state requirements.
  • Foster a supportive classroom environment that encourages social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators, therapists, and administrators to implement best practices and share effective strategies.
  • Communicate progress with families and participate in team meetings to help shape program initiatives.
  • Maintain thorough documentation on student progress and adapt instruction as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Valid Washington State Special Education Teaching Certification.
  • Experience or enthusiasm for supporting students from kindergarten through fourth grade in self-contained or ACCESS settings.
  • Strong understanding of IEP development, assessment, and implementation.
  • Effective communication skills, including comfort with digital platforms for meetings or training.
  • Flexibility to travel between schools within the district and adapt to changing caseload needs.
