Ampersand Therapy is hiring a Special Education Teacher for a contract position with a school district in Olympia, Washington, for the 2026–2027 school year. This is an in-person position beginning September 3, 2026.

- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide specially designed instruction based on students' individual learning needs
- Create measurable academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and functional goals
- Adapt curriculum, instruction, and classroom materials to support student access and participation
- Use differentiated and evidence-based teaching strategies
- Collect and analyze data to monitor student progress and guide instruction
- Complete evaluations, progress reports, IEP documentation, and other required records
- Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and multidisciplinary team planning
- Collaborate with general education teachers, families, administrators, and related service providers
- Support students in developing academic, communication, social, behavioral, and independent-living skills
- Implement behavior support plans and positive classroom-management strategies as appropriate
- Maintain a safe, structured, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Ensure services comply with state, federal, and district requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field
- Valid Washington State teaching certificate with an appropriate Special Education endorsement, or eligibility to obtain one
- Must have current fingerprints on file with OSPI or be willing to complete the fingerprinting process
- Previous special education or school-based teaching experience preferred
- Knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, differentiated instruction, and positive behavior supports
- Strong communication, documentation, organization, and collaboration skills
