Position Summary : The Training Manager provides operational leadership and continuous improvement for workforce training programs across Goodwill's licensed Vocational School and workforce development system. This position supervises training staff and ensures programs deliver measurable outcomes, including credential attainment, employment, retention, and career advancement. The Training Manager collaborates with the business development team to align training with labor market demand, employer needs while ensuring academic standards, and contract requirements are maintained .
Working closely with career navigators, employers, community partners, and leadership, this role supports participant success from enrollment through employment while advancing Goodwill's mission and workforce development goals.
Hourly Rate: $33.78 - $36.72 per hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Training Manager responsibilities i nclude the following and other duties as assigned:
Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise, coach, and support trainers, instructors, volunteers and lead training staff.
- Manage day-to-day workforce training operations across multiple locations and virtual environments.
- Lead implementation of academic and workforce training strategies and initiatives.
- Ensure consistent, high-quality training delivery, instructional standards, and participant experiences.
- Conduct classroom observations and evaluate training effectiveness.
- Foster a culture focused on employment outcomes, accountability, customer service, and student success.
- Provide ongoing coaching, professional development, and performance management for staff, including a focus on how our AEDI values translate into the classroom through our staff development .
Outcomes and Workforce Performance
- Establish and monitor performance goals related to enrollment, completion, credential attainment, employment, and retention.
- Ensure employability skills, career readiness, and workplace expectations are embedded throughout training programs.
- Partner with internal teams and employers to support participant transitions into employment.
- Promote equitable access, inclusive learning environments, career pathway awareness and employment opportunities for participants' success .
- Monitor attendance, engagement, retention, and completion across training programs.
- Monitor participant and program outcomes, implementing improvement and intervention strategies to address performance gaps and barriers impacting training, employment, and overall success.
Employer & Community Engagement
- Collaborate with employers, business engagement staff, and community partners to align training with workforce needs.
- Support the development of employer partnerships, internships, work experiences, apprenticeships, and job placement opportunities.
- Maintain awareness of labor market trends and ensure training programs remain responsive to industry demand.
- Gather employer feedback and incorporate recommendations into program improvement.
- Represent Goodwill at workforce development meetings, industry groups, employer events, and community partnerships.
- Ensure all training includes guest speaking, mock interview support and/or other forms of volunteer engagement that support the success of training offered.
Curriculum, Training, and Program Quality
- Ensure training content aligns with industry standards, credential requirements, and employer expectations.
- Promote effective instructional practices, educational technology, and innovative learning approaches.
- Maintain high standards for participant engagement, classroom management, and instructional quality.
