We are looking to bring on a skilled Aerospace Tooling Designer to support our client, in the Tacoma WA area. This role focuses on designing and modeling aerospace tooling and fixtures using Solid Works on PC-based systems. The ideal candidate has strong 3D modeling skills, understands tooling design concepts, and can collaborate closely with engineering, tooling, and manufacturing teams to support aerospace programs.

Compensation: $30-35/hr

Schedule
:
Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM OT as needed

Location: Tacoma,WA

Responsibilities
  • Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings for aerospace tooling, molds, fixtures, and assemblies using Solid Works
  • Design tooling to support composite and/or aerospace manufacturing processes
  • Work from engineering requirements, CAD data, and customer specifications
  • Collaborate with engineering, tooling, and production teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet project requirements
  • Update models and drawings based on feedback, design changes, or manufacturing constraints
  • Maintain organized CAD files, revision control, and documentation
  • Support tooling programs from concept through production
  • Assist with troubleshooting tooling design issues as they arise
  • Follow aerospace quality standards and internal design procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Proficiency in Solid Works (PC-based environment required)
  • Experience creating 3D models and detailed drawings
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

    Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in aerospace, composite tooling, or precision manufacturing preferred
  • Familiarity with tooling design, fixtures, or molds is a plus
  • Experience supporting aerospace or high-tolerance environments preferred
