Title: Protection & Control (P&C) Program Manager
Location: Tacoma, WA
Length: 1 year long contract initially + extensions + possible conversion to full-time
Pay Rate: $73-94/hr
Position SummaryWe are seeking a Protection & Control (P&C) Program Manager to support major Transmission & Distribution (T&D) capital projects within Tacoma Public Utilities. This role serves as a technical program coordinator with a focus on system protection, relays, controls, and SCADA/IED integration.
- Proven Protection & Control experience
- Background in utility or EPC organizations (power industry)
- Understanding of substation projects
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineering teams and field crews
- Familiarity with protection relay platforms: SEL, GE, ABB/Hitachi, Siemens
- Experience with SCADA protocols (DNP3, IEC 61850) or IED configuration
- Exposure to NERC PRC protection & controls compliance documentation
- Experience supporting FAT, SAT, or commissioning of substation equipment
- Knowledge of Tacoma Power engineering standards and T&D workflows
