Operations Manager, Energy Management/ Efficiency
Asset Manager III will be responsible to work with a set of company customers to review energy usage and strategies to implement best practices. This includes directly managing the O&M of the CEP for the campus and mentoring owners' staff on O&M and energy usage of multiple facilities.
Responsibilities- Review daily energy usage of the facility and provide guidance, best practices, and modifications to operations.
- Mentor owners on energy strategies.
- Manage the Central Energy Plant Operation and Maintenance, including subcontractors, operators, and internal service providers.
- Manage the Maintenance Reserve Accounts for the CEP.
- Work with operators to ensure efficient plant operation.
- Perform ongoing training of Plant Operators.
- Develop and maintain the Plant Operating Manual.
- Assist the EPC team with coordination of engineering, procurement, and construction activities with OMC operations.
- Coordinate on‑site troubleshooting and diagnostic efforts with remote support services team.
- Manage a single team or multiple teams of Asset Managers.
Required:
- 4+ years of experience in managing multiple sites and/or teams, or 4+ years in central plant/facility management, or mechanical construction with a large subcontractor or MEP design consultant.
- Well versed in building codes and associated standards.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail‑oriented and able to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast‑paced environment.
- Versed in the industry and the company's competitors.
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
Preferred:
- 4‑year Mechanical Engineering degree (ABET accredited).
- PE preferred or FE and working toward obtaining PE.
- 10–25% of time traveling to job site(s)/office location.
- Climbing stairs.
- Ascending/descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles.
- Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
- Remaining stationary, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Noisy environment.
- Quiet environment.
- Medium work including adjusting and/or moving objects up to 50 pounds.
