Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed Class 1–5 cost estimates (per AACE International standards), incorporating labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs for oil, gas, and petrochemical projects, including drilling, refining, and process facilities.
  • Analyze project scopes, including front-end engineering design (FEED) phases, to forecast costs for upstream, midstream, and downstream assets, with attention to high-pressure/high-temperature (HP/HT) conditions and hazardous area classifications.
  • Conduct value engineering assessments to identify cost‑saving opportunities while maintaining required safety integrity levels (SIL) and reliability‑centered maintenance (RCM) objectives.
  • Integrate quantitative risk analysis (e.g., Monte Carlo simulations) to account for uncertainties such as regulatory changes, geopolitical risks, and supply chain disruptions.
  • Prepare bid packages and evaluate vendor proposals in alignment with client procurement requirements, ensuring compliance with ethical sourcing and anti‑bribery standards.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering, project management, and construction teams to ensure estimates support overall project objectives, including sustainability goals and digital engineering initiatives.
  • Generate cost reports and dashboards for senior leadership, highlighting variances, forecasts, and recommendations using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Mentor and support junior estimators, promoting consistent estimating practices, professional development, and continuous improvement.
  • Stay current on industry trends, including digital transformation (e.g., AI‑enabled forecasting), sustainability expectations, and evolving regulatory requirements impacting energy and industrial projects.
Job Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field;
Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CCP or AACE certification) preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 10+ years of experience in estimation within the oil and gas industry, with at least 5 years in a senior role.
  • Location: Remote
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of oil and gas/refinery projects, including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and stage‑gated execution
    • Experience developing conceptual (factored) and detailed estimates aligned with project maturity
    • Working knowledge of construction practices, turnaround impacts, instrumentation, valves, and equipment
    • Skilled in interpreting project scope, design requirements, and scope changes to support accurate estimates and decision‑making
    • Ability to assess cost impacts related to client changes, design updates, and execution strategies
    • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data for non‑technical stakeholders
    • Effective collaborator with engineers, designers, clients, and vendors
    • Organized and detail‑oriented, with the ability to manage priorities against project schedules and budgets
    • Committed to maintaining high standards of productivity, accuracy, and documentation
    • Familiar with cost modeling factors, including labor rates, historical data, and contingency development by project phase
  • Technical Competence: Proficiency with industry‑standard estimating and risk analysis software, such as Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (ACCE), @Risk, or equivalent tools used for energy and industrial cost modeling.
  • Travel: Travel outside…
