Job Description

As a Project Manager – Professional Land Surveyor (PLS), you’ll lead survey, mapping, and geomatics work that supports critical infrastructure across the Pacific Northwest.

You’ll manage scopes, budgets, and teams while guiding both field and office execution—turning complex site and design needs into accurate, reliable survey deliverables our clients can build on with confidence.

Core Responsibilities

Managing surveying and mapping projects, scopes, budgets, and staff. Leveraging survey methods for construction layout, LiDAR mapping, photography, drones, GPS technologies, and conventional methods to map, as-built, retrace or construct project tasks. Coordinates day-to-day operations and field survey activities to ensure Land Surveying (LS) team members adhere to internal standards and external regulatory requirements.

Office work will involve construction calculations, client management, field and office staff oversight, field note reductions, traverse adjustments using Leica Infinity or other post‑processing software. Prepare topographic maps using both Micro Station Inroads and AutoCAD Civil 3D. ALTA Surveys, Right‑of‑way maps, and Record of Surveys. Deed research, title report reviews and writing easements and legal descriptions.

Post‑processing, QA/QC, and deliverable generation. Data collection using GPS TPS, 3D Laser Scanning, and Photogrammetric technologies. Survey control functions utilizing both GPS and TPS.

Computations and calculations for staking and layout.

Contribute to the development of LS capabilities by evaluating departmental equipment needs, coordinating maintenance and repairs, integrating innovative Survey, Mapping and Geomatics technologies.

Supervises team throughout the planning, coordination, and execution of surveying projects to ensure accurate and reliable measurements of land and property boundaries. Ensures documents and records pertaining to statutes and jurisdictional requirements are followed.

Develops relationships with organizational leaders, stakeholders, and clients to identify and assess their business requirements, and subsequently recommend the best‑suited method for their surveying need.

Develops processes for selecting and utilizing the most appropriate Surveying, Mapping and Geomatics techniques to ensure the delivery of accurate and informative surveys.

Evaluates individual performances during all project phases in order to more accurately assess training gaps and provide recommendations for improving training programs.

You’ll thrive here if you have
