Machinery Diagnostics Field Engineer / Rotating Equipment Field Engineer
We are seeking a field engineer to provide diagnostic and service solutions for rotating machinery across power generation, oil & gas, and chemical industries.
Responsibilities- Diagnose machinery problems using vibration data, operational data, and customer communications.
- Travel to customer sites to perform diagnostics and provide on‑site support.
- Complete timely reports identifying findings and recommendations.
- Build relationships with customers to become a trusted advisor on equipment health.
- Calculate and oversee placement of balance weights.
- Apply Health, Safety, and Environment (HS/E) standards and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of industry experience with large rotating equipment such as turbine generators, compressors, or fans.
- Extensive travel (up to 70%) and overtime willingness.
- Valid driver’s license and passport; eligible for TWIC.
- Ready to travel overseas and/or work on offshore platforms occasionally.
- Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of reliability engineering, turbine engineering, refinery mechanical engineering, or rotating equipment engineering.
- Experience in mechanical vibration analysis, rotordynamic analysis, predictive maintenance, balancing, and alignment.
- ISO‑certified Vibration Analyst preferred.
- Mechanical troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills in high‑pressure environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management and organization abilities.
- Proficiency with basic electrical testing instruments (volt meters, oscilloscopes).
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Working knowledge of rotating machinery operation, control systems, and condition monitoring.
- Knowledge of Bently Nevada products and Cordant services desired.
- Proficient computer skills and familiarity with networking concepts.
