Summary of Assignment
Under the general direction of the Budget Manager, the Accountant II provides advanced accounting, budget, and grant management support for the school district. This position performs critical financial functions including reconciliation, reporting, grant compliance, department and program budget monitoring, and capital projects accounting support. Work is completed in alignment with state and federal requirements, district policy, and established accounting standards. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to partner with program administrators and departmental leadership to ensure accurate, compliant, and transparent financial operations.
Minimum QualificationsEducation and Experience
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a closely related field, two years of progressively responsible experience
- OR AA and four (4) years of related work experience, preferably in government or K-12 finance
- Additional qualifying experience or education may substitute for the requirements on a year-for-year-basis.
