Corrections Specialist 3 - iCoach

Community Corrections Division Tacoma, WA [DOC WFSE Monthly Salary Range 60: $6,407.00 to $8,612.00] This is an INTERNAL recruitment, open to current, permanent WA State Dept of Corrections employees only. DOC's Mission is to improve public safety by positively changing lives. Our agency is looking to INTERNALLY fill a full-time, permanent Corrections Specialist 3 (CS3) iCoach vacancy within the Community Corrections Division.

This position works for the iCoach Transition and Resource Unit located at the Tacoma Community Justice Center CJC), 1016 South 28th Street, Tacoma, WA 98409. Travel to field offices, institutions, and other locations will be required. Individualized Community Oriented Accountability Collaborative Help (iCoach) is an overarching approach to supervision. iCoach is the delivery of supervision, programming, and services for individuals under the Department's supervision and includes a requirement of the Community Corrections Officer (CCO) to coach supervised individuals throughout the course of supervision.

iCoach will be driven by two philosophies:
Community Reintegration supervision and enhanced supervision. This position serves as a member of reentry care teams that may include, institution and community supervision staff, family, faith-based support, mentors, housing providers, local law enforcement, and neighborhood/community support. Represents the Agency in the community through presentations and promoting development of services and coordinating the delivery of those services.     Duties
    • Support the work of incarcerated individuals in developing Individual Reentry Plans to address the needs of the individuals including education, employment, substance abuse treatment, mental health treatment, family reunification, and other areas which are needed to facilitate a successful reintegration into the community.
    • Act as a liaison between the supervised individuals, Prison Case Managers, Community Corrections Officers, and Corrections Specialists to coordinate and plan pre-release wrap around meetings and services.
    • Network with community stakeholders to maintain, create, and develop resources within communities.
    • In conjunction with Community Corrections and Reentry staff, maintain and update resource database to reduce recidivism, increase post-release employment, and decrease homelessness.
    • Provide effective communication, documentation, collaboration, and community outreach.
    • Other duties as assigned and necessary.
    Qualifications

    MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR ALL CASES LISTED BELOW

    • Armed staff must have the ability to carry and properly utilize a department-issued firearm.
    • Must possess and maintain a vehicles operator's license valid in the state of Washington.

    AND MUST POSSESS ONE OF THE FOLLOWING CASES

    • Four years' experience as a Community Corrections Officer (CCO) with the Washington State Department of Corrections.
