* As a Point of Care Coordinator (POC) you are responsible for the regulatory oversight and monitoring of point of care (POC) laboratory test sites in the hospital or ambulatory setting.
Each day, you will coordinate POC testing and clinical laboratory improvement amendments (CLIA) licensure, develop training and competency programs, provide ongoing technical guidance and feedback covering the pre-analytical, analytical, and post analytical areas of laboratory medicine to personnel performing POC testing. The position requires traveling to multiple testing sites within hospital or ambulatory settings, and the ability to effectively communicate with and train non-laboratory staff which may include physicians, nurses, and medical assistants.
Success in this role depends on attention to detail, and a strong knowlegde of laboratory testing, and regulatory guidleines.
+ Ensures compliance with applicable department, regulatory and safety standards related to POC activities in the hospital or clinic setting.
+ Participates in the implementation and validation associated with new lab equipment/instrumentation. Coordinates with vendors to include staff training.
+ Provides technical guidance to other laboratory staff and coordinates/participates in a variety of complex technical tasks to troubleshoot escalated problems/issues and determine quality control measures needed.
+ Assists in the competency review and/or directly reviews testing personnel. Conducts competency assessments by task or procedure and documents through a standard evaluation tool.

+ Medical Laboratory Technician AMT, upon hire or
+ Medical Technologist AMT, upon hire
