GCC Technologies is seeking an Intermediate FOIA Specialist to support a large FOIA contract with the Department of Veteran Affairs. The position offers onsite and remote flexibility and will support the Washington DC office.
Responsibilities- Conduct mid-level FOIA processing with minimal supervision.
- Review and interpret FOIA requests, conduct or validate searches, apply exemptions, prepare releasable records, and ensure responses meet statutory and VA requirements.
- Provide technical accuracy, consistency, and support to junior staff while contributing to efficient workflow management and quality FOIA production.
- Associate’s Degree required.
- Minimum 2 years of FOIA processing experience within the last 36 months. Additional FOIA experience may substitute for formal FOIA training or certifications.
- Comprehensive knowledge of FOIA exemptions, request types, timelines, and fee categories.
- Ability to analyze and interpret FOIA requests and determine tasking and search requirements.
- Skilled at conducting or validating searches for responsive records.
- Proficient in applying redaction software accurately and documenting exemption decisions.
- Strong written communication skills for drafting responses and summaries.
- Meets or exceeds all Junior FOIA Contractor KSAs.
Position falls under the SCA labor Category of Paralegal II at an hourly rate of $31.66.
Health and Welfare rate of $5.09 per hour will be applied to benefits.
Language RequirementContractor must read, write, and speak English fluently, and communicate orally via telephone and MS Teams as well as via email.
