Jr. Dev Ops Engineer
Vertical: IT / Information Security
Location:
Washington, DC (5 Days)
Pay: $70,000K Salary (FIRM - Junior level position that will grow)
Clearance:
Top Secret (MUST HAVE)
- Assists in the design, deployment, and testing of Dev Sec Ops infrastructure tools.
- Performs Operations and Maintenance (O&M) duties for a suite of cloud-based and Dev Ops tools.
- Supports patching, upgrades, and certification processes for system components, support libraries, and application dependencies.
- Deploys and configures services using Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) providers.
- Configures and manages Linux-based servers to support dynamic websites and application environments.
- Troubleshoots and debugs cluster-based computing architectures and container orchestration systems.
- Uses scripting or basic programming (e.g., Bash, Python) to automate tasks and solve operational problems.
- Installs, configures, and maintains open-source monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Nagios.
- Addresses interoperability issues between various tools, systems, and platforms in the Dev Ops toolchain.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- 1–2 years of hands‑on experience in a technical support, system administration, or Dev Ops‑related role.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and IaaS concepts.
- Basic proficiency in Linux system administration and command‑line operations.
- Basic experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Power Shell.
- Understanding of basic networking and system monitoring concepts.
- Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Cloud Formation.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git Lab CI).
- Experience with open-source monitoring and logging tools (e.g., ELK Stack, Zabbix, Prometheus).
- Strong problem‑solving skills and willingness to learn in a fast‑paced environment.
