Scope

Operate company vehicles to transport residential clients to community, medical, legal, housing, benefit and other appointments as well as on outings to engage in social and community events. Serves as a member of an organization that welcomes, engages, and serves individuals with complex wellness needs.

Responsibilities
  • Operate small (5 passenger sedan) and large transit vehicles (11 passenger van) to ensure safe and timely transportation of passengers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist clients with entering and exiting the vehicle as needed, while maintaining client dignity and safety.
  • Provide safe, reliable and courteous transportation.
  • Assure mandatory safety equipment is stocked and functional.
  • Ensure timely arrival, client comfort and adherence to all safety, traffic and company policies while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure vehicles are in safe operation conditions.
  • Conduct routine vehicle condition inspections and reports.
  • Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
  • Complete passenger and vehicle usage records.
  • Prepare and submit incident/accident reports.
  • Document interactions and observations of clients’ behaviors into their electronic health records.
  • Responsible for keeping updated on all company policies and procedures and all training requirements.
  • Develop efficient route plans.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and staff regarding transportation needs or changes.
  • Always maintain confidentiality of client information.
  • Represent the organization professionally when interacting with clients and the public.

Qualifications
  • High school graduate, GED or equivalent experience.
  • Must have a minimum of five years of general driving experience.
  • Must be 25 years of age to be eligible to drive CLR vans. Exceptions can be made for 23 and 24 years old to drive CLR van with verification of driving experience.
  • WA State Department of Health Credential
    - Registered Agency Affiliated Counselor (AACR).
  • Skilled in MS Word and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize deadlines, work independently, take initiative, and maintain confidentiality.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certified.
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license in good standing; proof of insurance.
