Tacoma Public Library is looking for a Library Facilities and Capital Projects Manager to join our team! In this role you will be responsible for the strategic oversight and management of the Libraryacilities Department, ensuring that facilities, grounds, assets, and vehicles are properly maintained, usable, clean, safe, and accessible for staff and the community. This position leads both daily operations and long-term capital planning, including construction, renovation, and infrastructure improvement projects.
This position guides capital investments and departmental direction and is responsible for major investments in physical assets, including long-term planning, design, permitting, and construction of new facilities or significant renovations.
- Direct the maintenance of Tacoma Public Library facilities, grounds, and vehicles
- Manage the planning and execution of daily operations and major projects, including construction, renovations, and infrastructure improvements
- Lead short- and long-term facilities planning, including budget development and management, project design, permitting, contractor coordination, and compliance with applicable codes and standards
- Manage Facilities Department staff, including hiring, training, directing work, conducting performance evaluations, and recommending discipline
- Provides complex construction project management, including coordination with internal stakeholders and external contractors
- Ensure alignment of facilities operations and capital projects with organizational goals and community needs
