Program Director III, Arlington Drive
The Program Director III, Arlington Drive reports directly to the Y Social Impact Center's Housing and Homeless Services Executive Director and will direct and oversee service delivery, building oversight, and community programming at Arlington Drive Apartments located in Tacoma, WA. Arlington Drive Apartments is a 58-unit housing facility serving young adult individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness. This one-of-a-kind housing facility specifically designed to house unhoused young adults in Pierce County is owned and managed by the Tacoma Housing Authority (THA).
THA provides building maintenance and tenant management in partnership with the Y, who provides case management, life skill development, rental assistance, and independent living planning for Arlington residents. The position also oversees several additional community-based contracts and other funding streams that support Arlington Drive and the broader Pierce County Community. The Program Director III, Arlington Drive oversees and supervises a diverse team of multi-level leaders including a supervisor and case managers who work directly with Arlington Drive residents and staff the building 24/7 providing onsite safety and support to residents all day, every day Monday-Sunday.
This position is part of the Y Social Impact Center, the social services branch of the YMCA of Greater Seattle (YGS). The mission of Y Social Impact Center is to accelerate young people's ability to build safe, successful and happy lives. Every year, we serve 5,000 children, youth, young adults, and families across King County with programs that aim to strengthen young people's ability to develop to their fullest potential through four strategies: reducing risk factors;
navigating systems towards successful life transition; ensuring stability, safety and wellness in times of crisis; and building competencies and social capital. Y Social Impact Center's programs include housing, behavioral health, foster care licensing, violence prevention, education, and employment. Many of the young people we serve have had involvement in the foster care, criminal justice system, and/or homelessness systems.

Hiring Range: $98,/yr
Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm on-site at Arlington Drive in Tacoma, WA. Some evenings, weekends, and overnight availability will be required as programatically needed to support operations. Ability to attend meetings and occasionally work out of offices in Seattle, WA is necessary.
- Provide leadership to existing programs, establish new program activities and expand programs within the community in accordance with the Association and Branch strategic plans related to area of focus.
- Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and supervise assigned staff and volunteers in assigned areas. Provide development and leadership.
- Oversee and supervise on site admin with the interests list, waitlist and selection of new Arlington residents.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and provide leadership and support to assigned programs and teams, including on-call support to staff around de-escalation and crisis
- Collaborates with other Housing and Homeless Services division Program Directors on developing programs, supporting staffing needs, and providing cross-program leadership to support teams. Work closely with leaders and staff across other YSIC divisions, particularly Behavioral Health and Foster Care, whose staff are based at Arlington Drive, to support coordinated services and site operations.
- Represent the Y and Y Social Impact Center (YSIC) at relevant committees, meetings, and events in Pierce County.
- Play an integral role in Pierce County's youth and young adult homelessness response and maintain active membership and participation in the Communities for Functional Zero (C4F0) Initiative.
- Advise the YSIC Executives on key decisions related to Pierce County housing and homeless services programs that align with the strategic plan, agency vision, mission, and values.
- Seek new strategic opportunities to grow YSIC's housing and homeless services footprint in Pierce County including researching new grant opportunities and building relationships with funders and partners.
- Oversee multiple contracts and ensuring budgetary compliance. Secure and locate other funding streams including private and government.
