Since 1917, Globe Machine has been a manufacturer of industrial machines, systems, and plants for advanced composites, building products, and pulp & paper.

The successful candidate will be responsible for fitting and machine welding structural steel and aluminum materials.

This is a first shift position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Use shop drawings, written, and verbal instructions to prepare, layout, and fit materials as specified.
Weld materials in all positions in accordance to shop drawings & standard welding practices.
Setup and regulate machine parameters such as gas, current, amperage, voltage, to produce correct bead size, and proper penetration.
Check and confirm all required dimensions using a tape measure, calipers, micrometers, or other inspection devices as required.
Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and manlifts.
Detect faulty processes and provide some input for their resolution.
Be available to work overtime when needed to ensure deadlines are met.
Perform all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school graduate or G.E.D. strongly preferred.
Minimum of three years dual shield experience required.
Minimum of two years close tolerance-fitting experience required.
A.B.O certification strongly preferred.
Proven ability to read and understand engineering drawings, manufacturing planning, weld symbols, and sketches required.
Basic math skills and the ability to read a tape measure required.
Demonstrated ability to be adaptable, tactful, and self-directed when faced with tight deadlines and fluid environments required.
Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate in English required.
Must possess a proven history of being reliable with excellent attendance.
Conduct oneself with the highest level of professionalism and ethical standards.
