Compensation for onsite Washington applicants is $75,000–$100,000. All applicants are welcome to apply.

What can I expect in this role?

The Manufacturing Engineer will support AST by providing manufacturing technical support that includes manufacturing engineering, plant engineering, and industrial engineering. The primary responsibility of this position is to own improvements in manufacturing delivery and cost performance. This position will be a technical owner of manufacturing processes and may include engineering operations, project management, and any transactional processes. The role will perform a variety of complex tasks and assist in developing and executing a technical manufacturing strategy.

Activities:
  • Coordinate manufacturing technical support activities to continuously upgrade and improve manufacturing technologies, improve equipment uptime, product yield, and quality of production, as well as new processes, technologies, and longer‑term manufacturing strategies.
  • Direct contact with contractors and service providers for execution of projects.
  • Participate in the design review process and provide technical input to Design Engineers.
  • Coordinate design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) activities on new products prior to launch.
  • Design jigs and assembly tools.
  • Work closely with design and production leaders to improve manufacturing efficiencies, manufacturing effectiveness, and reduce production costs.
  • Create and maintain routings as well as other manufacturing data requirements.
  • Create standard work and work instructions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
