Overview
Tacoma, WA. This entry-level role in composite manufacturing provides hands-on experience with Prepreg production, including setup, safe operation, monitoring, and basic maintenance. Training on quality control standards will prepare you to advance into higher-level roles within a successful, long-standing company in the Tacoma area. This position offers compensation, benefits, and opportunities for advancement.

- Compensation: $24.00-$27.00 per hour
- Annual review of compensation
- $3.00 per hour night shift premium (5:45 PM – 6:00 AM)
Schedule:
2-2-3 rotating shift (12-hour shifts):
Day shift 5:45 AM – 6:00 PM / Night shift 5:45 PM – 6:00 AM.
- Set up and validate production machinery for proper operation.
- Assist with machine operation to ensure smooth, efficient production of quality products.
- Utilize hand tools (e.g., scrapers, cutting tools, carts) to move materials as needed.
- Learn to operate production equipment computer interfaces and process monitoring systems.
- Assist in product inspections during production runs.
- Collaborate with team to promote teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Clean machines to ensure proper operation.
- Create and/or complete production-related paperwork.
- Provide accurate turnover information to the oncoming shift.
- Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Operate equipment (e.g., forklift, hoist) to move materials and supplies.
- Participate in team meetings.
- Perform other related production duties as assigned.
- Strong situational awareness for safe work and consistent quality.
- Good interpersonal and teamwork skills; ability to follow directions and interpret specifications.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve at an intermediate level.
- Professional and effective communication with colleagues and leadership.
- Ability to use a computer and applicable software and peripherals.
- Ability to read and understand diagrams.
- Basic knowledge of safety practices; hazardous chemicals knowledge/experience is preferred.
- Strong written communication for accurate record keeping.
- English reading, writing, speaking, and understanding at a level necessary to perform responsibilities.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous production experience strongly preferred.
- Frequent hearing, speaking, and use of hands/fingers; repetitive motions.
- Occasional lifting/pushing/pulling up to 40 pounds; team lifts for heavier loads.
- Stand for up to 12 hours; good visual acuity.
- Ability to climb stairs, bend, kneel, twist, and reach; wear PPE for extended periods.
- Respirator fit may be required.
- Production environment with potential exposure to temperatures.
- Possible exposure to epoxy resins and related materials.
This position may involve information subject to ITAR and/or EAR. Applicants may need to be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR/EAR.
