Slitter Saw Machine Operator

General Plastics Manufacturing Company in Tacoma, WA seeks a Slitter Saw Machine Operator to cut and size advanced polyurethane foam products for aerospace, defense, and other demanding industries. You'll set up and operate slitter saw equipment, interpret work orders and drawings, and verify part dimensions using measuring tools to meet tight tolerances. Responsibilities include handling and staging materials, monitoring machine performance, performing basic adjustments, completing production and quality records, and following strict safety and housekeeping standards in a collaborative, quality-focused environment with opportunities to grow.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate slitter saw machines to cut polyurethane foam to specified dimensions and tolerances
• Read and interpret work orders, drawings, and specifications to determine machine settings and cutting sequences
• Measure and inspect finished parts using gauges, tape measures, and other tools, recording results per quality procedures
• Monitor machine performance, adjust speeds, feeds, and blade settings, and perform basic troubleshooting
• Handle, load, and stage foam materials safely to minimize damage and waste
• Complete production logs, labels, and traceability documentation accurately and on time
• Follow all safety, PPE, and lockout/tagout procedures and help maintain a clean, organized work area
• Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to meet schedules and continuously improve processes
