The Role

Windward is looking for a Marketing Manager, U.S. Public Sector to build and execute the company’s marketing and brand strategy across the U.S. federal, defense, intelligence, homeland security, and law-enforcement sectors.

This is a strategic, hands-on role focused on strengthening Windward’s market position, developing mission-driven narratives, identifying high-impact opportunities, and executing programs that build credibility, engagement, and business growth.

You will work closely with the U.S. public-sector sales team, customers, partners, and external stakeholders.

What You’ll Do
  • Build and execute Windward’s brand and marketing strategy for the U.S. public sector.
  • Develop clear, differentiated, mission-relevant positioning for government, defense, intelligence, and law-enforcement audiences.
  • Adapt Windward’s global brand strategy to the priorities, language, and operating realities of the U.S. market.
  • Identify marketing opportunities based on federal priorities, policy developments, budget cycles, geopolitical events, mission requirements, and competitive activity.
  • Own Windward’s presence at key defense, intelligence, maritime, national-security, and federal-technology events.
  • Plan and execute conferences, trade shows, executive round tables, briefings, speaking engagements, webinars, and partner events.
  • Identify and develop collaborations with technology partners, government contractors, industry associations, research organizations, media, and other influential stakeholders.
  • Build thought-leadership programs and content around Maritime AI, maritime domain awareness, national security, illicit activity, sanctions enforcement, and operational decision-making.
  • Develop executive content, reports, briefs, presentations, customer stories, event materials, and sales-enablement assets.
  • Support executives and subject-matter experts with messaging, speaking opportunities, and external engagements.
  • Manage external agencies, vendors, event partners, budgets, and program performance.
What You’ll Bring
  • 4-5 years of B2B or B2G technology marketing experience, including direct experience marketing to the U.S. federal government.
  • Proven experience building and executing brand and marketing strategies for complex technology or intelligence offerings.
  • Strong understanding of the U.S. government, defense, intelligence, or national-security ecosystem.
  • Experience planning and executing industry events, executive programs, partnerships, and thought-leadership initiatives.
  • The ability to identify market opportunities and turn them into focused, well-executed programs.
  • Strong positioning, messaging, storytelling, writing, and editing skills.
  • The ability to translate complex technology into clear mission value for executive, operational, and acquisition audiences.
  • Experience working closely with public-sector sales and business-development teams.
  • Strong project-management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives, stakeholders, vendors, and deadlines.
  • A strategic mindset combined with a hands-on, accountable approach to execution.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
Strongly Preferred
  • Experience in defense technology, national security, intelligence, homeland security, maritime technology, or dual-use technology.
  • An established network within the Washington, D.C. federal and defense-technology ecosystem.
  • Experience working in a high-growth technology company.
  • Experience managing a small team of marketing professionals.
  • Existing or ability to obtain U.S. government security clearance, where relevant.
