About the role
This is an Ameri Corps/Washington Service Corps national service position. It is contingent on funding and open until filled. St Leo Food Connection is a food pantry located in Pierce County, serving an average of 4,300 families each month through three programs. The member will serve with a team of 75 volunteers to organize and distribute take‑home groceries for 1,000 families each week.
Monthly stipend: $2,438.
The Connection Foodbank Generalist will support St Leo Food Connection’s efforts to get good food to people who need it by providing organizational and operational support for our take‑home grocery services. Responsibilities include coordinating packing and delivery of weekly food boxes, serving walk‑in customers, loading and unloading vehicles and driving Food Connection vehicles, tracking inventory and completing a daily distribution log, managing stock, ensuring all food safety guidelines are followed, maintaining a clean safe workspace, accepting and documenting donations, and recruiting and managing volunteers.
