DescriptionJob Summary:
The Outreach and Community Engagement Supervisor provide day-to-day leadership and coordination of MDC's outreach and community engagement activities. This position supervises Outreach Coordinator staff and supports consistent, high-quality engagement with individuals, families, community organizations, and partner agencies.
The Supervisor ensures outreach staff remain knowledgeable about MDC programs, services, eligibility requirements, and community resources so individuals seeking assistance receive accurate information, appropriate referrals, and a welcoming experience.
Working closely with the Program Manager and other MDC programs, the Outreach and Community Engagement Supervisor coordinates outreach activities, develops community relationships, monitors service and referral activity, supports staff development, and identifies opportunities to strengthen MDC's visibility and connection within the community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day supervision, direction, coaching, and support to Outreach Coordinator staff.
- Plan and coordinate daily workflow, outreach activities, assignments, schedules, and community engagement activities.
- Train and mentor outreach staff regarding MDC programs, services, eligibility requirements, referral processes, customer service expectations, documentation practices, and community resources.
- Conduct regular individual and team check-ins to communicate priorities, address operational concerns, and support employee development.
- Review employee work for accuracy, completeness, professionalism, and adherence to established procedures and expectations.
- Provide ongoing performance feedback and communicate performance or employee relations concerns to the Program Manager as appropriate.
- Assist the Program Manager with onboarding, training, and evaluation of outreach staff.
- Support consistent application of MDC policies, procedures, service standards, confidentiality requirements, and applicable program requirements.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of MDC programs, services, eligibility requirements, appropriate program contacts, and available community resources.
- Ensure Outreach Coordinator staff maintain current knowledge of MDC services and community referral resources.
- Engage directly with community members when needed to identify needs, explain available services, provide referrals, and assist individuals in navigating MDC programs and community resources.
- Coordinate outreach activities at MDC locations and throughout the community, including community events, resource fairs, partner meetings, presentations, and other engagement opportunities.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations, service providers, government agencies, businesses, educational institutions, and other community partners.
- Serve as an MDC representative at community meetings, outreach events, resource fairs, and other public-facing activities as assigned.
- Identify opportunities for MDC to strengthen community partnerships, increase awareness of available services, and improve access for individuals and families who may experience barriers to services.
- Coordinate with MDC program staff to ensure outreach information, program materials, eligibility requirements, and referral processes remain current and accurate.
- Support effective communication and collaboration between outreach staff and other MDC departments and programs.
- Monitor outreach activities and service data, including community contacts, referrals, completed applications, events, partnerships, and other established performance measures.
- Review outreach documentation and tracking information for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare or assist with regular reports regarding outreach activities, community engagement efforts, referrals, service trends, and outcomes.
- Identify trends, barriers, emerging community needs, or service gaps and communicate findings and recommendations to the Program Manager.
- Support the development and maintenance of outreach materials, resource guides, referral information, presentations, and community engagement tools.
- Promote a welcoming, respectful, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive environment for community members seeking MDC services.
