Job Title:
Registered Nurse, Aesthetic Ambulatory Surgery Center

Responsible To: RN Charge Nurse, ASC

Responsible For:
Aesthetic Surgery Patients – Procedural/Surgical Care – Preop, Post OP and Interoperative

Overtime Status: 32 hour week with little to no OT

Job Summary

Responsible for providing professional nursing care in the peri‑operative, PACU, and ambulatory surgery setting for patients.

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Preoperative assessments
  • Patient education/answer questions related to procedure
  • Start IVs and medications
  • Monitor vitals
  • OR circulator – assist in OR
  • Monitor patients in recovery (PACU)
  • Address questions/complications/concerns
  • Educate patients/families on discharge instructions
Collaboration and Communication
  • Work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding patient status and care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care activities in EHR.
  • Respond to and triage incoming surgery patient calls (preop and post‑op).
Quality and Safety
  • Adhere to ASC policies, procedures, and regulatory standards to ensure patient safety and high‑quality care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of care delivery.
  • Ensure proper handling and disposal of medications and medical supplies.
  • Stay current with best practices and advancements in ambulatory surgery nursing.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
Professional Development
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education to maintain licensure and enhance clinical skills.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and performance evaluations.
Qualifications
  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
  • PALS certification preferred.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a surgical or peri‑op setting (new graduates welcome).
