Travel NICU Registered Nurse (RN) opportunity in Tacoma, WA — Level IV NICU; requires 2+ years Level III-IV NICU experience and an active Washington RN license.

- Setting: Level IV NICU in a 152-bed children's hospital (neonatal ICU, pediatric hospital)
- Contract Type: Travel RN

- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend (occasional back-to-back weekends possible)

- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,250–$2,370/week (based on 36 hours/week)
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Level III-IV NICU experience (neonatal nursing, NICU RN)
- Active Washington State RN license
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- Experience with respiratory support and ventilator management required
- Competence with medication administration, care plans, and discharge to home procedures
- Ability to document accurately in EPIC EMR
- Positive attitude and friendly, collaborative demeanor
- Experience with tracheostomy care (trachs) highly preferred
- Experience with g-tubes, NG/OG feeds, NCPAP, UAC/UVC, and PICC line management
- Preferred experience with surgical NICU patients and HIE (hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy)
- Travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers considered
- Provide high-quality neonatal nursing care in a Level IV NICU (neonatal intensive care)
- Care for a variety of neonatal patient types, including extreme prematurity (down to 22 weeks), RDS, high-risk deliveries, feeders/growers, and NAS
- Perform respiratory support and ventilator management for ventilated neonates; manage advanced airway equipment
- Deliver enteral feeding care (G-tube, NG/OG) and manage central/vascular access (PICC, UAC/UVC)
- Administer medications, develop and implement individualized care plans, and coordinate discharge to home
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams — neonatologists, respiratory therapists, lactation consultants, and social work — to optimize patient outcomes
- Float to ER to act as a sitter if needed (rare)
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in EPIC EMR
