Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) – Full-Time or Part-Time

Rainier OBGYN | Tacoma, Washington

Location

Our practice is located in Tacoma, Washington, a vibrant city within the Seattle metropolitan area. The Pacific Northwest offers an exceptional quality of life and a thriving cultural scene.

Position Overview

Full‑time schedule:

  • 3 clinic days per week
  • Every‑other‑weekend call rotation
  • Call taken from home

Part‑time opportunities are also available with reduced scheduling requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and well‑woman care
  • Attend labor and deliveries
  • Perform routine gynecologic services, including annual exams and contraceptive management (including IUD insertion and removal)
  • Educate patients on pregnancy, childbirth, parenting, breastfeeding, and family planning
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
  • Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic testing results
  • Identify and manage common women’s health conditions
  • Provide emotional support and counseling for expectant and new mothers
  • Complete administrative duties related to patient care and practice operations
Qualifications
  • Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) certification
  • Active or eligible Washington State CNM licensure
  • DEA registration or ability to obtain upon hire
  • Ability to meet hospital and practice credentialing requirements
  • Experience in women’s health, obstetrics, and gynecology preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision‑making skills
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR documentation and medical records management
  • Excellent communication, patient education, and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, evidence‑based care
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ultrasound assessment and interpretation
  • Experience in both outpatient and hospital‑based settings
  • Familiarity with quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
  • Prior private practice experience
