Job Description:

The Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Room (ER) is responsible for providing care to a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics. This includes managing walk-in traumas, cardiac, neuro, GI, respiratory, psych, and frequent GSW cases. RNs will provide care to intubated patients and manage ventilators and biPAP machines due to the absence of respiratory therapists (RTs) onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive ER care to patients.
• Manage ventilator and biPAP machines.
• Administer medications and perform IV insertions.
• Float to other Off-Campus Emergency Department (OCED) sites as needed.
• Mentor junior staff and take on charge nurse duties.

Requirements:

• 2 years of true ER experience, 5 years for CAP applicants.
• Certifications:
  
  BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, NIHSS, TNCC.
• Strong customer service and ED experience.
• Competency in managing chest tubes, central lines, and strong IV skills.
• Telemetry competency required prior to start.
