Job Summary

As our Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you’ll keep the day running smoothly and efficiently for your patients and clinical team. You’ll take the lead on proactive preparation of patient charts, ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date for those seen in our facility. The Clinic LPN will work full time in the Franciscan Women’s Health Associates Clinic in Tacoma, WA.

This position does not include nights or weekends and offers free parking. Some travel to other clinics may be needed.

• Prepare patients for practitioner visit; room patients, obtain and record vital signs and other appropriate information such as height, weight, drug allergies, current medications and presenting problem; chaperone and document the patient exam, ensuring privacy and comfort.
• Perform or assist with patient care, diagnostic tests, and clinical procedures appropriate to training and scope of licensure; follow triage standing orders and protocols for routine nursing situations and refer complex or emergent situations to an RN or provider.
• Assist with point of care testing (CLIA‑Waived Tests only) and lab tests following established protocols.
• Administer patient medications per written provider order; track and log medication usage per established policies; inventory counts of controlled substances.
• Document procedures and interactions in the patient’s medical record in accordance with established procedures; enter, pends and sign orders as appropriate.
• Organize exam rooms, including general cleaning, upkeep and re‑stocking of supplies; prepare, clean and sterilize instruments and maintain related equipment.

• Required: Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing;
  Licensed Practical Nurse license in WA;
  Basic Life Support (CPR).

• Preferred: 1–3 years of LPN work experience in a clinic setting or acute care LPN work experience.

$28.55 – $48.43 /hour
