About

Our Facility

Located on a historically significant site above the Puyallup River in Tacoma, our Tribal‑funded, 12,000‑square‑foot Elder's Wellness and Assisted Living facility serves up to 20 Puyallup Tribal Elders. The facility offers breathtaking views of the Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains.

It features indoor and outdoor activity spaces, banquet rooms, a lounge and library, a hall honoring Puyallup Tribal Elders, and a comprehensive Health and Wellness Center. Amenities include a state‑of‑the‑art hydrotherapy pool, sauna, steam room, traditional healing room, and much more.

What to expect as a CNA for the Puyallup Tribe of Indians
  • Weekend shift pay differential for evening and NOC shifts
  • Low patient to staff ratios:
    • 1 Staff Member providing Services to 4‑5 Elders during days and evenings
    • 1 Staff Member providing Services to 8‑10 Elders during nights
  • 8‑hour shifts available:
    Day, Evening, and NOC
  • Patient centered care
  • A high‑functioning, team‑oriented environment

Essential Duties and Responsibility Level I
  • Competently assists assigned Elders with ADL’s, transfers, repositioning, personal care, checking head to toe for bruises, blood in urine and for any injuries or wounds.
  • Assists Elders with bathing, grooming, shaving, oral hygiene, elimination needs, dressing/undressing, and ambulation together with any daily tasks (e.g. making bed, changing linens, laundry, light housekeeping, etc.) essential to the Elder’s health in accordance with the individualized care plan.
  • Provides Elders with assistance transferring in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs, chairs or automobiles.
  • Takes Elder’s blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respirations, blood sugar, intake and output (I & O‘s) when needed, specimen collection and post mortem care.
  • Provides medication administration once training is complete.
  • Calls 911 when Elder is experiencing significant health issues.
  • Ongoing close observation and monitoring of Elder’s health, activities, and habits. Immediately reports any noticeable changes, however small, to supervisor.
  • Provides for comfort and needs of the Elders ensuring their safety and well‑being.
  • Works effectively as a team member in the delivery of care and assisted in the orientation of new employees.
  • Accurately updates and documents Elder’s health records in a timely manner.
  • Answers/responds to call lights and/or requests for assistance promptly and respectfully. Provides welfare checks throughout shift.
