Job Summary

As a Clinic Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a central figure in our patient care team, delivering exceptional, compassionate care that truly makes a difference in our patients' lives. The Franciscan Medical Group, part of Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, is seeking a full‑time Ambulatory Clinic RN for the Franciscan Spine Associates Clinic in Tacoma, WA. The position requires a preferred minimum of 6 months of clinic experience and offers ample hands‑on patient care in an ambulatory outpatient clinic setting, a gorgeous view of Commencement Bay, opportunities for growth, free parking, competitive pay, a great schedule, and no weekends or organizationally recognized holidays required.

Every day you will collaborate on comprehensive screenings, conduct critical risk assessments, provide vital preventative health education, and coordinate care for diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities
  • Delivers professional nursing care to clinic patients; performs diagnostic testing and related clinical procedures to appropriate level of training/scope of licensure and established procedures; independently triages nursing situations in accordance with standing orders/protocols; addresses more complex, urgent or emergent situations escalated from other clinic staff.
  • Performs a variety of patient assessment/care tests (e.g. EKG, Spirometry, vision/hearing screening, peak flow, color blindness, etc.) in accordance with established protocols.
  • Makes independent wound assessments and performs complex wound care and dressing changes, including placement or changing of wound vac; removes sutures or staples after wound assessment by a Provider.
  • Inserts and/or removes tubes, drains, urinary catheters, including removal of peripherally‑inserted central catheter (PICC); applies splints/braces.
  • Instructs patients in the collection of samples and other tests; ensures that patient or family understands follow‑up and referral information.
  • Informs patients of lab results, calls in prescriptions to pharmacies and returns practitioners’ phone messages.
Required Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, upon hire.
  • Registered Nurse: WA, upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year RN work experience in a clinic setting OR two years of acute care RN work experience.
Pay Range

$43.10 - $71.12 per hour
