American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 12-hour night shift assignment requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and active WA or compact RN license.
Requirements- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required; 5+ years preferred
- Previous travel experience required; first-time travelers considered upon review
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (AWHONN)
- High acuity OB experience required, including labor management and delivery of high-risk patients
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Work in the Birth Center unit of a hospital, which includes 34 L&D beds (15 labor rooms, 12 antepartum, 4 OB ED, 3 OR) and 18 postpartum beds
- Care for high acuity OB patients including hypertension, magnesium administration, C-sections (33% rate), preterm labor, insulin drips, vaginal deliveries, epidurals, inductions, antepartum patients, PROM, multiple births, and postpartum hemorrhage
- Unit manages up to 300 deliveries per month
- Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines: 1:1 active labor, 1:2 non-active laboring, 1:2-3 antepartum depending on acuity
- Responsibilities include triaging OB patients, circulating in the OR, performing cervical checks, interpreting fetal monitoring strips, and serving as a second set of hands for newborn recovery
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Uses Alaris Care Fusion IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Centricity/Qx fetal surveillance monitors, CAD Solaris epidural pumps, Panda warmers, and Coviden SCDs
- 12-hour night shifts ), with weekend rotation every other weekend
- Floating may be required to Antepartum (within L&D) and occasionally Postpartum (4th floor), within scope and experience
- No mandatory on-call requirements, though pickup of open shifts may be available
- Schedule is created in 6-week increments and released 2 weeks prior to the start of the schedule
- Unit support includes CNAs, LPN scrub techs (NRP certified), receptionist/HUC, free-floating charge nurse, resource RN (staffing dependent), and scheduled break nurse coverage
- 24/7 respiratory therapy support available, including NICU RTs for high-risk deliveries
- 24/7 laborist coverage with residents, fellows, and additional physicians/midwives in house
- Anesthesia coverage scheduled during day shift and shared after 1700
- Orientation includes hospital orientation plus 2 weeks on unit and 1 week of independent practice, with daytime orientation even for night shift positions
- Scrub color is provided by the facility and scrubs must not be worn outside the facility
- Free badge access parking available in designated areas

- RTO requests must be submitted prior to contract approval
