Licensed Practical Nurse
Licensed Practical Nurse providing school-based health care in Tacoma, Washington. Supports student wellness during the school day on a 36-week contract, collaborating with staff, parents, and healthcare providers to maintain a safe and compliant health environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide nursing care and health support to students during the school day in accordance with LPN scope of practice and school policies
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered and document care accurately per school and district procedures
- Perform basic assessments, provide first aid, and respond to student health concerns
- Collaborate with school staff, parents/guardians, and healthcare providers to support student wellness and safe return-to-class planning
- Maintain a safe, organized health office environment and support required health records, compliance needs, and daily nursing tasks
- Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing (LPN) program (certificate/diploma) or equivalent
- Active WA LPN License
- Minimum experience:
0 years (new grads encouraged to apply) - Ability to support student health needs in a school setting during the school day
- Ability to work a daytime school schedule up to 6.5 hours/day based on school schedule
- Availability for 32-40 hours per week (typically ~32.5 hours/week)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with school staff, families, and students
- Professional, compassionate, and student-focused approach
- Flexibility with pending facility details (orientation, EMR, scrubs, and other site expectations to be confirmed)
Skills:
- Current CPR/BLS (preferred for school-based nursing)
