Licensed Practical Nurse
Licensed Practical Nurse supporting student health in a school setting for a 36-week contract in the Tacoma area. Provide nursing care, administer medications, and collaborate with staff and families to promote student wellness.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide nursing care and health support to students during the school day in accordance with LPN scope of practice and school policies
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered and document care accurately per school and district procedures
- Perform basic assessments, such as vital signs and symptom checks, and provide first aid
- Respond appropriately to student health concerns and coordinate care
- Collaborate with school staff, parents/guardians, and healthcare providers to support student wellness and safe return-to-class planning
- Maintain a safe, organized health office environment and support required health records, compliance needs, and daily nursing tasks
- Support student health needs during the school day and maintain a professional, compassionate, student-focused approach
- Work a daytime school schedule (up to 6.5 hours/day) and maintain availability for 32-40 hours per week
- Communicate effectively and work as part of a team with school staff, families, and students
- Flexibly adapt to pending facility details such as orientation, EMR, scrubs, and other site expectations
- Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing (LPN) program (certificate/diploma) or equivalent
- Active WA LPN License
- Minimum 0 years of experience; new graduates encouraged to apply
- Ability to support student health needs in a school setting during the school day
Skills:
- Current CPR/BLS certification (preferred for school-based nursing)
