American Traveler is seeking a Labor & Delivery RN with an active WA or compact license and at least 2 years of L&D experience for a 12-hour night shift assignment in a high-acuity birth center.

• Level II Trauma Center with a Level IV NICU on-site
• Birth Center unit with 34 L&D beds (15 labor rooms, 12 antepartum, 4 OB ED, 3 OR) and 18 postpartum beds
• High acuity patient population including hypertension, Mg administration, C-sections (33% rate), preterm labor, insulin drips, vaginal deliveries, epidurals, inductions, antepartum patients, PROM, multiple births, and postpartum hemorrhage
• Up to 300 deliveries per month
• Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines: 1:1 active labor, 1:2 non-active labor, and 1:2-3 antepartum depending on acuity
• 12-hour night shifts scheduled for 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation is every other weekend, with variability based on need
• Floating required to antepartum (within L&D) and occasionally postpartum (4th floor), within scope and experience
• No mandatory on-call requirements, though open shifts may be picked up as needed

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, NRP, and Intermediate FHM (AWHONN) certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required for travelers, with 5+ years preferred
• Experience managing and delivering high-risk OB patients, triaging OB patients, circulating in OR, performing cervical checks, and interpreting fetal monitoring strips
• EPIC EMR experience required

• Provide labor management and delivery care for high-risk OB patients
• Serve as a second set of hands to receive and recover normal newborns as needed, with APGAR scoring support
• Work alongside a robust support team including CNAs, LPN/NRP-certified scrub techs, receptionist/HUC, floating charge nurse, resource RN, dedicated break nurses, 24/7 respiratory therapy, and 24/7 laborist coverage with residents/fellows and additional physicians/midwives
• CAP orientation includes hospital orientation plus 2 weeks on the unit and 1 week working independently
• Holiday coverage expected on a fair and equitable basis
• Scrubs are provided by the facility and must not be worn outside of the building
• Free badge-access parking available in designated areas
• First-time travelers will be considered upon review
• RTO requests must be submitted prior to contract approval
