We’re seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – Wound Care (RN – Wound Care) to join a dedicated healthcare team in Tacoma, WA. If you’re passionate about evidence-based wound management and patient-centered care, this could be your next great assignment.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive wound assessment, treatment, and ongoing nursing care
  • Assess wounds for size, depth, drainage, tissue type, odor, infection, and signs of healing
  • Develop and implement individualized wound-care plans based on patient needs and provider orders
  • Perform dressing changes and wound treatments using appropriate techniques and products
  • Provide care for pressure injuries, surgical wounds, diabetic wounds, venous and arterial ulcers, and other complex wounds
  • Monitor wounds for infection, deterioration, delayed healing, and other complications
  • Assist with wound debridement and advanced wound-care procedures as permitted by scope of practice and facility protocols
  • Coordinate with physicians and wound-care specialists regarding treatment recommendations and changes in patient condition
  • Educate patients and caregivers on wound care, dressing changes, nutrition, skin protection, and prevention strategies
  • Promote pressure-injury prevention, repositioning, mobility, nutrition, hydration, and skin integrity
  • Monitor patient response to treatment and document wound progression accurately
  • Maintain detailed documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Collaborate with physicians, dietitians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, CNAs, case managers, and other healthcare professionals
  • Follow infection prevention, sterile technique, HIPAA, OSHA, and patient safety standards
  • Participate in quality-improvement initiatives related to wound prevention and treatment
  • Provide compassionate support to patients experiencing chronic or complex wounds
Qualifications
  • Active Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Wound Care nursing experience
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • Current ACLS Certification preferred or required by facility
  • Wound-care certification such as WCC, CWCN, CWS, or CWOCN
  • Strong knowledge of wound assessment, staging, treatment, and prevention
  • Experience caring for complex, chronic, diabetic, pressure, and surgical wounds
  • Knowledge of infection prevention and evidence-based wound-care practices
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent assessment and documentation abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team
