We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse - ER to provide safe, efficient, and compassionate emergency care to patients with a wide range of acute medical conditions, injuries, and urgent healthcare needs. The ER RN will perform rapid patient assessments, prioritize care based on acuity, administer medications and treatments, monitor patient responses, and collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary emergency care team.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced emergency nurse who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and respond quickly to changes in patient condition.
Roles and Responsibilities- Perform rapid and comprehensive assessments of patients presenting to the Emergency Department
- Prioritize patient care according to acuity and clinical needs
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, oxygen saturation, neurological status, and other clinical indicators
- Administer medications, IV fluids, injections, and emergency treatments according to provider orders
- Initiate and maintain IV access and perform nursing procedures within scope of practice
- Assist physicians and other providers with emergency procedures and treatments
- Provide care for patients experiencing trauma, chest pain, respiratory distress, stroke symptoms, infections, injuries, and other acute conditions
- Recognize changes in patient condition and respond promptly to clinical deterioration
- Participate in resuscitation, emergency stabilization, and rapid response activities
- Monitor patients during and after medications, treatments, and procedures
- Perform wound care, dressing changes, splinting assistance, and other emergency nursing interventions
- Collect specimens and coordinate diagnostic testing as ordered
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, medications, and patient responses
- Communicate critical patient information promptly to physicians and other members of the healthcare team
- Provide patient and family education regarding treatments, medications, follow-up care, and discharge instructions
- Assist with patient transfers, admissions, discharges, and referrals as needed
- Maintain infection prevention and control practices
- Follow medication safety, patient identification, and Emergency Department protocols
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, technicians, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
- Support a safe, organized, and efficient Emergency Department environment
- Active Registered Nurse license eligible to practice in Washington
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room or comparable acute care nursing experience
- Strong knowledge of emergency nursing practices and patient prioritization
- Experience with IV therapy, medication administration, patient monitoring, and emergency interventions
- Ability to recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
- Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts
- Required certifications should meet applicable facility requirements
