Job TitleRegistered Nurse – NICU (12-Hour Days)
LocationTacoma, WA | NICU (Level IV)
Schedule / Job TypeContract | Full-Time | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (0700–1930) | Every-other-weekend rotation
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to NICU patients ranging from 22 weeks gestation through high-acuity diagnoses including RDS, NAS, and high-risk deliveries
- Manage and monitor respiratory support including mechanical ventilators, NCPAP, and related equipment
- Perform and maintain UAC/UVC management, PICC lines, G-tubes, and NG/OG tubes
- Administer medications and develop, implement, and update individualized patient care plans
- Coordinate and facilitate safe discharge-to-home planning for NICU patients
- Float to Med Surg or PICU for patients 1 year and under, or serve in a Helping Hands capacity as needed
- Minimum 2 years of Level III or Level IV NICU experience
- Active Washington State RN License
- BLS Certification (required)
- NRP Certification (required)
- Demonstrated proficiency with respiratory support for ventilated patients
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR
- Prior travel nursing experience strongly preferred; first-time travelers will be considered
- Experience with tracheostomy care (highly preferred)
- Experience caring for surgical NICU patients
- Experience with HIE (Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy) patients
- Work in a high-acuity Level IV NICU — the second highest-level NICU in the state — within a dedicated pediatric hospital environment featuring private patient rooms and a high-risk labor and delivery unit on site
- Join a collaborative team in a 70-bed NICU with block scheduling possibilities and no on-call requirements
