Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (12-Hour Nights)

Tacoma, WA | Acute Care

Contract | Full-Time | Night Shift (19:00–07:30) | Expected 48 hours/week | Onsite

• Provide direct nursing care to high-acuity Labor and Delivery patients including those with hypertension, preterm labor, PROM, multiple births, post-partum hemorrhage, and patients requiring Magnesium or insulin drip administration per protocol
• Manage active labor, support vaginal deliveries and C-sections, assist with inductions, epidurals, and cervical checks; circulate in the OR as needed
• Read and interpret fetal monitoring strips using Centricity/Qx fetal surveillance system; triage OB patients presenting to the OB ED
• Transition and recover birthing patients and newborns following vaginal and cesarean deliveries, including APGAR scoring when a second set of hands is available
• Float within the unit to antepartum and occasionally to postpartum as needed, within scope and experience
• Document accurately and efficiently using EPIC EMR (required); operate unit equipment including Alaris Care Fusion IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, CAD Solaris epidural pumps, and Panda Warmers

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Washington
• BLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (AWHONN) certification required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required; 5+ years preferred; first-time travelers considered on a case-by-case basis

• Prior travel nursing experience in Labor and Delivery
• Experience with high-risk OB patient populations including antepartum, PROM, multiple gestations, and operative deliveries
• Familiarity with AWHONN staffing guidelines and patient ratio standards
• Experience with Alaris Care Fusion IV pumps, Pyxis, and fetal surveillance monitoring systems

• Work within a well-supported unit featuring 24/7 laborist coverage, respiratory therapy, scrub techs, charge nurse support, and dedicated break nurses scheduled each shift
• Facility-provided scrubs and free designated parking available for staff
