- Previous charge nurse experience
- Ability to manage a patient ratio of 4-6, depending on unit acuity
- Proficiency in charting using Epic
Description:
The Float Registered Nurse will provide care across various patient populations, including patients boarded from the emergency room, telemetry, and medical-surgical units. This role requires the nurse to adapt to the needs of different units within the facility. The nurse-to-patient ratio may vary depending on the acuity of the unit. Charge nurse experience is essential for this position as responsibilities may include managing staffing needs and bed flow on small units.
The candidates must have experience working in the United States, as experience from other countries will not be considered. The ideal candidate should possess skills in nursing procedures such as blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, and care for ventilated patients. The role involves collaboration with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams and respiratory services. Flexibility in scheduling is required, including potential floating to other units.
The candidate must commit to working a specified number of holidays during the contract. References covering relevant recent nursing experience will be required prior to hire.
