  • We have multiple positions available:
  • Full-Time:
    Friday to Tuesday, 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Full-time:
    Thursday to Monday, 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
  • Part-Time:
    Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 10 a.m.

As a Parks Maintenance/Grounds Worker Temporary (Extra-Hire), you will get to work in many park settings and facilities. You will work alongside other parks maintenance professionals to accomplish challenging and rewarding tasks and projects.

In this role, you will be a part of the team maintaining the Central Region parks and facilities. The Central Region is responsible for parks in Tacoma, Parkland, and Spanaway; with the majority of the work for these positions being done at Sprinker Recreation Center. What we do directly impacts and improves the quality of life for Pierce County residents.

You will be responsible for performing a wide variety of maintenance and repair tasks for grounds, buildings, structures, and equipment within the Parks Department. You will learn and participate in maintenance activities associated with a variety of skills and trades. Core

Daily Responsibilities
  • Perform general parks maintenance work such as, but not limited to weeding, trimming, and mowing
  • Perform maintenance work such as but not limited to facilities cleaning and upkeep
  • Assist with setup, maintenance, and tear-down of equipment for special events
  • Assist with closing park operations
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to safely lift, push and pull 50lbs
  • Ability to work all terrains in all weather conditions
