On-Call Archaeological Field Technician (Part-Time) – Own Your Future our On-Call Archaeological Field Technician for the Environmental Planning Services Team in Tacoma, you’ll support fieldwork and documentation that contribute to the identification, documentation, and preservation of cultural resources.

As an Archaeological Field Technician, youll support a range of field and reporting activities that contribute to the identification, documentation, and preservation of cultural resources.
- Fieldwork & Data Collection: Perform archaeological field surveys, excavation, construction monitoring, and documentation in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal guidelines and requirements.
- Coordination & Communication: Communicate effectively with construction crews, field staff, and project teams.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Maintain monitoring logs and provide regular status updates to project management.
- Resource Identification & Protection: Identify cultural resources in the field and communicate requirements with construction personnel, including Tribal representatives.
- Prior archaeological field training or experience in an academic or professional setting
- Ability to navigate using GPS and traverse uneven terrain on foot while carrying equipment
- Ability to reliably identify a wide array of archaeological artifacts and features common to Washington and outlying areas
- Ability to accurately observe, describe, and record soils, sediments, and cultural resources on standardized digital and analog forms
- Ability to positively represent the shared values of Psomas and its clients while effectively collaborating and communicating with a variety of teammates and project partners
- Valid driver s license with reliable transportation and a clean driving record
- Bachelor2s Degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field
- Resides in Western Washington
- Prior experience with archaeological field survey, hand excavation, and construction monitoring in Washington
- Ability to operate 4x4 vehicles in remote or undeveloped terrain, as needed
- Pay Range: $27.00 - $36.05/hour (commensurate with experience)

- Time Off: Sick Pay in accordance with state and federal laws
