Job DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY
As a sales manager you will be the face of our company. You get to highlight our brand and image while contributing to building our reputation as a company that values its customers and their opinions. You will be directly responsible for assisting customers and helping them recognize the need for our products and services. Must be capable of learning about what we sell and are able to articulate our purpose in a manner that is educational, insightful and professional.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
MANAGEMENT- · Responsible for overseeing of all aspects of the Garden Center Division
- · Directly supervises all Garden Center sales associates
- · Taking responsibility and providing leadership for day-to-day operations within the Garden Center department
- · Responsible for scheduling department associates to ensure proper staffing, while staying with budgeted labor guidelines
- · Ability to open and close store when scheduled
- · Responsible for training, managing and scheduling department employees
- · Proactively engage and make a connection with customers.
- · Asking questions and listening to customers needs.
- · Directing customers to merchandise informing them about upcoming events promotions mobile offers.
- · Cooperate and build positive inclusive and respectful relationships take accountability for your own actions and outcomes.
- · Provide attractive and creative displays with proper signage and information for customers, including rotation of season products
- · Cross-selling products and knowing layout of the store.
- · Make suggestions to customer on latest trends and current promotions based on customers individual needs.
- · Learning product features keeping up with the latest trends leveraging company tools and technology to confidently provide the customer with product knowledge specs.
- · Using a Point-of-Sales system processing cash exchanges discounts gift cards credit cards debit cards cash handling including counting money and returning accurate amounts to customer.
- · Completing various forms of paperwork reports and reconciliation
- · Responsible for managing inventory, sales, labor and expenses to maintain a profitable department
- · Responsible for completing purchase orders and other inventory related paperwork in a timely manner
- · Responsible for monitoring inventory levels for re-ordering from vendors or by communicating with the buyers
- · Must be able to unload trucking with incoming product, accurately check in that product and communicate any overages, shortages and damages to the buyer
- · Responsible for keep shelves and displays stocked and organized with proper information, meeting customer needs
- · Be the keeper of merchandise complete all inventory processes and make sure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed.
- · Manage periodic inventories
- · Adherence to assigned work schedule.
- · Accurate and complete follow through on work assignments
- · Other Duties as assigned
- · Available to work a variety of hours which may include early mornings evenings weekends and holidays
- · Must be flexible with your scheduling to accommodate customer needs
- · Willingness to work overtime as needed
- · Experience with retail sales
- · Basic all-around knowledge of gardening; including soils, amendments, seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, tools, etc
- · Basic computer knowledge and use of Microsoft Office programs
