Primary Responsibilities
- Execute and promote products aligned to sales strategy in the assigned territory.
- Collaborate with the District Sales Manager on day-to-day sales and product promotion activities.
- Analyze local market; develop, execute, and monitor performance to maximize product use in the territory.
- Maintain current knowledge of products, disease, competition, and market reimbursement.
- Determine, implement, and monitor optimal resource allocation (budgets, time, etc.) in the territory.
- Use advanced selling and negotiation skills to communicate persuasively with target audiences.
- Identify, build, and leverage advocacy channels.
- Secure product access and reimbursement in institutional systems as needed.
- Manage travel and promotional budget.
- Complete monitoring/reporting requirements (expenses and call reporting) using approved systems.
- Meet credentialing requirements for healthcare providers, customer facilities, and state/local governments.
- Additional ad-hoc projects as needed.
- BS/BA with GPA > 3.0.
- Minimum 3 years pharmaceutical sales experience preferred (candidates may be considered for an “Associate” role).
- Preferred: atypical anti-psychotic/orphan drug experience; specialty experience in psychiatry, bipolar, depression, CNS or pain management.
- Preferred: reimbursement experience; existing relationships with psychiatrists/Community Mental Health Centers in territory (within 24 months).
- Valid driver’s license; clean driving history.
- Self-starter; goal/results driven; “hunter” mentality; strong territory knowledge.
- Ability to travel (may include overnights); out-of-territory travel to HQs/training/meetings; meetings may be outside normal hours.
- Must reside within territory geography.
- Goal/results driven; patient-centric clinical approach.
- Excellent communication (interpersonal, verbal, written); strong organizational skills.
- Ability to navigate complex markets; manage multiple priorities; adjust to roadblocks.
- Computer proficient; able to operate a motor vehicle; may lift/move up to 15 lbs.
