Primary Responsibilities:

  • Execute and promote products aligned to sales strategy in the assigned territory.
  • Collaborate with the District Sales Manager on day-to-day sales and strategy for product promotion.
  • Analyze the local market; develop, execute, and monitor performance to maximize appropriate product use.
  • Maintain current knowledge of product, disease, competitive landscape, and market reimbursement.
  • Determine, implement, and monitor optimal allocation of resources (budgets, time, etc.) in the territory.
  • Use advanced selling and negotiation skills to communicate persuasively with identified target audiences.
  • Identify, build, and leverage advocacy channels.
  • Secure product access and reimbursement in institutional systems as needed.
  • Manage travel and promotional budget.
  • Complete monitoring and reporting requirements (expenses and call reporting) using approved systems.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Vanda policies.
  • Meet industry-standard credentialing requirements for healthcare providers, customer facilities, and state/local governments.
  • Additional ad-hoc projects as needed.
Education & Experience Requirements :
  • BS/BA with GPA > 3.0.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving history.
  • Self-starter; goal- and results-driven with proven above-average results.
  • “Hunter” mentality; strong desire to sell and compete.
  • Strong relationships and territory knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to travel (may include overnights) and work outside normal hours as scheduled.
  • Must reside within territory geography.
