Security Officer - College Patrol

As a Security Officer Part Time Patrol in Tacoma, WA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as education. In this role you will be an unarmed patrol officer at an education location, conducting routine patrols, monitoring assigned areas, and supporting access control and other security‑related activities. Your presence will deter incidents while delivering strong customer service and communication.

Pay Rate: $24.00 / Hour

• Day Time Fri 10:00 AM – 05:00 PM
• Saturday 07:00 AM – 01:00 PM
• Sunday 07:00 AM – 01:00 PM

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or faculty by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; document observations and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout campus buildings, walkways, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and common areas, verify credentials when required, and report maintenance concerns, policy violations, and suspicious activity according to site protocols.

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
• Minimum age 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all applicable laws.

• Applicants may be required to undergo a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.
