Position: Security Guard 1 / On-Call

Security Guard 1 / On-Call

This position is on-call only and will not become permanent. It is eligible to accrue annual and sick leave based on hours worked.

Schedule

Shifts vary by need, including day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, with a maximum of 69 hours per month. The position is not eligible for telework.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Provide museum access and patrol museum grounds.
  • Provide written daily security reports.
  • Report security discrepancies and incidents.
  • Enforce museum rules and parking lot policies.
  • Assist visitors.
  • Observe and report safety and security matters.
  • Monitor and control access to premises.
  • Enter parking registration and violation information.
  • Set up and break down room layouts.
  • Provide access for rental deliveries and escort potential rental clients.
  • Perform custodial and grounds work.
  • Remove trash and recycling from building and grounds.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 1-year prior experience in security, military basic training, or law enforcement.
  • Able to do sustained physical work, including working from a step ladder.
  • Able to lift, move, or transfer 50 lbs.
  • CPR/First Aid & AED certification within 6 months of employment.
  • Must pass a background check.
