Residential Service Technician
Position SummaryThe Residential Service Technician is a troubleshooter and service expert responsible for alleviating concerns the customer may have regarding a security system. The technician advises customers and the customer care center on system status and inspections.
- Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring.
- Readjust equipment, repair or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation.
- Read blueprints, building, and electrical plans to complete equipment repairs.
- Prepare trouble order forms to report temporary repairs.
- Coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies.
- Services: fire and carbon monoxide detection, networking, hosted video solutions, and access control.
- Follow required processes of wired/wireless technology and connection procedures.
- Test and validate system signals/communication with central monitoring to establish service.
- Provide customer service, demonstrating willingness to help customers fix issues and understand protection.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 2 years experience installing and inspecting/repairing ADT or comparable product line.
- Service experience, technical aptitude, strong verbal communication, customer‑focused, ability to thrive under uncertainty.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to read building electrical and sprinkler plans.
- Physical ability: standing, stooping, lifting, climbing, crawling.
The pay range is $19.53 - $36.27 an hour based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include healthcare, a 401(k) plan with employer match, short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, paid time off (up to 120 hours first year), and 6 paid holidays.
