Laborer, Trades ​/ Skilled Labor, Construction Labor ​/ Trades

Telecon is looking for an energetic and motivated individual to join our growing Civil Team!

Working under the supervision of the Foreman and site Supervisor, the Laborer will assist the Civil Team with the installation of telecommunications infrastructure (buried cable, wire, or ducts) for various projects.

This is a full‑time position which includes benefits, 401(k), and opportunities for growth. The position is based out of the Tacoma, WA area.

• Diagnose and locate cable faults and replace or repair telecommunications cables
• Hand dig holes and trenches
• Frequently use tools such as shovels
• Aid with general site preparation and clean‑up as directed
• Safely load and unload vehicles with supplies and equipment as directed
• Run gas and power equipment (i.e., saws, drills, jackhammers)
• Assist with the removal of debris from work sites
• Assist with traffic control as directed
• Assess the work environment for potential health and safety hazards
• Solve problems and perform well under pressure and time constraints
• Complete other duties as required

• Construction or landscaping industry experience – buried utilities
• Civil, Electrical/Electronics, or any other related field
• Valid driver’s license (a CDL is an asset)
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions year‑long
• Availability to work on weekends and overtime when required
• Proficiency in internet and email usage; capable of learning new software quickly
• Good verbal command of the English language and strong communication skills
• Ability to safely lift 80 lbs
• English reading, writing, and speaking proficiency
• Good interpersonal skills and teamwork ability
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Prompt and consistent attendance, including on‑time arrival for job assignments
• Willingness to complete an online criminal record check to the company’s satisfaction
