Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing equipment including pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical problems by making adjustments and repairs on building and production equipment. This position breaks down equipment and replaces, adjusts or repairs parts.
Duties and Responsibilities- Develops standard maintenance programs to be incorporated into operating manuals for customers
- Assists in identifying and resolving recurrent failures
- Supports root cause analysis program for major failures
- Maintains and repairs lift table and lift jacks
- Keeps machinery and production equipment in working condition and always ready for production, including forklift fleet and the service agreements on larger forklift repairs.
- Diagnoses and repairs issues with welding machines, trucks, and golf carts
- Maintains adequate supply of parts to service and maintain equipment, and keeps detailed records for reporting of maintenance performed and parts used.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to work with tools such as a welder, cutting torch, grinder, lathe, mill, drill, and meter
- 1+ year of experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills
- 5+ years experience in mechanical maintenance field
- 1+ years of Welding Experience1+ years of Fabrication Experience.
- Experience working and understanding OSHA regulations
Physical Requirements
The physical environment requires the employee to work in hot and cold environments, in and out of the weather, work safely around heavy equipment and on top of and under railcars, as well as around railroad tracks. Employees are required to use personal protective equipment such as steel toe boots, hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, welding and grinding shields, etc.
